Meet Carolyn & Shannon
The friends behind Awe Shirts
Carolyn and Shannon, the co-owners of Awe Shirts, have been friends for many years. Their daughters are the same age and have played volleyball together since third grade. Over the years, the two moms became close after attending practices and tournaments together
One weekend in 2017, both Carolyn and Shannon were heading to Nashville for an out-of-town volleyball tournament, and the idea of Awe Shirts was born. Shannon suggested the two open a T-shirt shop together, and Carolyn, who had recently been laid off from her job, said "why not?"
Over the tournament weekend, the two discussed the details of the new business idea and jumped right in when they returned home. Awe Shirts officially opened on February 1, 2018, and Carolyn and Shannon have been providing custom vinyl apparel to the St. Charles and St. Louis region ever since.
